Permalink Reply by sam seun on February 7, 2012 at 4:28am the first is picture that i shake hands with the boy at primary school, the primary school I like to speak one slogan that inspire people to get success in life: I see him. I want to be the same him. I do the same him. And I hope that I will be the same him. For small children at primary school when we speak about how to get success and we explain about the theories or strategies to get success in life, the small children will have question or wonder what can I do if I want to get success?
In my country people high value to Buddhist monk, laypeople salute or clasp their to Buddhist monk as the respectfulness to monk, and for me in my commune I am the very famous one, many people want to be the same me, especially the old the in the countryside always want to their children to be the same me. When i shake hands with small boy, he might think that : what can he do? and I shake hands with him, I know that he feels very elated to talk to me and he will try to do good thing for life, I think. Here i also want to say that when we are famous, I mean when we have money, power, and so on. we should be the gentle and helpful one that many people can come to talk to when they meet problem.
The second and the third pictures, I want to say that we have to share what we to other people. when we know something that is the good thing or something that many people in the world want to get, we have to share what we have to other people. I know about the teaching of the Buddha and also the rule situation of my country, especially when i come to the United States if America, I learned many things from America and I share my experiences to students, I know that many students are very interested to know what i get from IVLP.
In my country, cambodia, when someone
has time to go to the United States they give high value because as we all know that the US is the powerful country and especially because i have the wonderful time to go White House, I told my country people that I went to inside White House many people( students) will think that what can they do to have the good him like me? . Here I want to share that when we good or when we have something that we want to get in our life, we should share that thing or that ides or that strategy to other people.
what can I do?

Permalink Reply by Windy Previl on February 7, 2012 at 10:32am Hello,
Here is the caption about my picture. Please look at it very well:
There's a guy standing next to the "Quetion mark Point" asking himself What can I do?
Then we see volunteers doing different things: Some are cooking (food kitchen), some are cleaning, some are planting flowers and cutting the grass to protect them, there's a girl who is painting, we see young people providing tutorial (or mentoring others), and also volunteers helping in health care. All those remind me my volunteer service in America and back home in Haiti. At least, I add some peice of sentence that tell the motivation, passion and committment for volunteer activities. Enjoy :)
